Past and present

Eye-catching, engaging and irreverent, the Bul-bo floor lamp was created for the Olivetti Residential Centre in Ivrea, the staff housing for the historic Italian brand, long synonymous with progress and innovation.

The Bul-bo was designed between 1968 and 1971 by Roberto Gabetti, Aimaro Isola, Guido Drocco and Luciano Re, originally with a faux leather base.

With its playful, ironic spirit and functional approach, Bul-Bo was perfectly aligned with the philosophy of the Olivetti brand: the company was attentive to its employees' quality of life and the value of beautiful things, so much so that it commissioned a visionary architectural firm to create a series of modular, practical and aesthetically pleasing pieces of furniture for the Olivetti residences. These included the Bul-bo.

The exclusive Bul-bo Soft version by Loro Piana Interiors and Axolight - an Italian company specialized in designer lighting solutions - made its debut at the 2021 Salone del Mobile.

Bul-bo Soft is sold exclusively by Loro Piana Interiors.
